About Radii 100

Radii 100 is more than a store. It’s a belief that keeping things close still matters.

The Radii 100 Philosophy

We focus on retail products produced, procured, or crafted within 100 miles of the store’s location in Hickory. That circle covers farms, kitchens, artists’ studios, and small workshops across our region. It is not just a distance. It is a promise to support our neighbors and keep money circulating right here in the community instead of sending it to big corporations and overseas factories.

Wendy grew up in this area, between Greensboro and Salisbury. Back then, “neighborhood” meant more than just the houses next door. It meant the whole region - the people, the land, and the community we build and share together. That feeling never left her. Radii 100 is her way of helping others experience that feeling-  by supporting local makers and creating a stronger local economy where neighbors can actually know and help each other.

The name says it all. Radii is the plural of radius. We pull from every direction: north toward Virginia, south into South Carolina, west past Asheville, and east toward Greensboro. Wendy and Tim often drive out to pick up products and meet the makers in person to build real relationships with the people whose work ends up on the shelves.

This approach makes a real difference. When you shop at Radii 100 you are supporting actual people who live nearby. You are helping creative makers stay in business. You are choosing products with a story instead of something mass-produced far away. And you are helping keep our local economy healthy and connected.

It also makes shopping more enjoyable. You never really know what you are going to discover when you walk in. New vendors, fresh finds, things you did not even know existed 30 minutes from home. It is a fun destination. A good way to spend part of an afternoon.

We are still early in this journey. The goal is to keep growing the circle of makers while staying true to that 100-mile commitment. Wendy even hopes one day to make those vendor runs in an electric vehicle that can handle the round trip on a single charge.

We are excited to have created a place where local makers have a reliable shelf and where people can come discover things they actually want to bring home.

Come see us. Walk around. Check things out. Say hi to Karma if she is here. And leave knowing one of your neighbors made whatever you are taking home.
